Nitrogen Removal from Landfill Leachate

CNP Water has recently successfully applied our autotrophic nitrogen removal (ANR) technology using anoxic ammonium oxidation (anammox) bacterial to cost-effectively removal high level of ammonia/ammonium from landfill leachate in Ireland.

Here is a photo taken on 28/02/2014, showing the red granular anammox sludge from our pilot scale ANR reactor.
